Caliber Collision Centers Acquires Best Auto Body & Paint in Hesperia

    IRVINE, Calif.--July 13, 2001--Caliber Collision Centers, an Irvine-based operator of high-quality collision repair facilities in California and Texas, has acquired Best Auto Body & Paint one of the largest collision repair service providers in the High Desert area of Southern California.
    The addition of Best Auto Body & Paint further extends Caliber's position as the largest collision repair provider in Southern California with 33 centers in operation, 13 of which are in the Inland Empire. It also expands Caliber's position as the largest independently operated collision repair organization in the United States, with 59 centers in California and Texas.
    According to Ed Medvic, Caliber's vice president, corporate development, the acquisition of Best Auto Body & Paint enhances Caliber's presence in the rapidly growing Inland Empire/High Desert area.
    "Caliber acquired the center, which is located in the city of Hesperia, because we saw an immediate need for additional high-quality collision repair in the High Desert area," said Medvic. "This new facility will ensure that Caliber's clients and consumers will be well served for years to come in this rapidly growing area."
    Jack and Louanna Dora, former owners of Best Auto Body & Paint, will consult with Caliber during the integration of the business to the Caliber group.
