Waltraud Prechter Appoints David Treadwell Chairman of ASC Incorporated

    SOUTHGATE, Mich., July 13 Waltraud E. Prechter succeeds
her late husband Heinz C. Prechter as the sole shareholder and Chairperson of
Prechter Holdings, parent company of automotive supplier ASC Incorporated.
Heinz Prechter, former Chairman and founder of ASC Incorporated, died on
Friday, July 6, in his home on Grosse Ile, Michigan.
    As the owner, Waltraud E. Prechter appointed David L. Treadwell as
Chairman of ASC Incorporated.  Treadwell served as Vice Chairman of ASC
Incorporated since 1997.  Treadwell joined the Prechter companies in 1984 and
will remain President and CEO of Prechter Holdings, a position he held since
1997.
    "Heinz [Prechter] built ASC Incorporated from the ground up and entrusted
a management team under the leadership of David Treadwell with running ASC
Incorporated five years ago," said Prechter.  "I will work closely with David
[Treadwell] and together we will continue to maintain the strategic direction
of our automotive businesses and execute our strategy as planned."
