Cabling System Design Streamlined Through Zuken Agreement
with Dassault Systemes
Zuken and Dassault Systemes have announced a Software Community Program (SCP) agreement under which Zuken, as a Gold Partner, will integrate its Cabling Designer product into Dassault's end-to-end Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) CATIA Version 5 (V5) electromechanical design solution. This will dramatically reduce system design time through the integration of electrical, mechanical and manufacturing data within a single design flow. The overall solution is designed to minimize time-to-market, primarily in automotive and electrical engineering manufacturing industries.
Dassault Systemes' V5 solutions for cabling are perfectly complemented by Zuken's Cabling Designer. This tight integration between the two solutions promotes flexibility to experiment and innovate at the earliest stages of the design process, to eliminate the costly design errors typically associated with separate and disparate logical designs, physical design and manufacturing environments. Zuken's engineering cabling design software provides effective variance and hierarchical capabilities to ensure a perfect simulation of the systems being designed.
Zuken's Cabling Designer will interface directly with V5, a completely re-engineered, next-generation family of CAD/CAM/CAE software solutions for product lifecycle management for the automotive industry. It is offered in conjunction with Dassault's PLM Solutions, which helps companies leverage the Internet for integrating product-development and product-life processes. The V5 offers a revolutionary approach for Class A design to further reduce time-to-market by compressing the development process from style to die with a fully integrated electromechanical suite of design tools.
"The strategic alliance between Zuken and Dassault Systemes offers a revolutionary solution for electromechanical design," said Jinya Katsube, chief operating officer of Zuken. "Combining Dassault Systemes' electrical cabling PLM expertise with Zuken's electronic design automation (EDA) and consulting expertise will enable us to leverage our large customer bases for a win-win solution. Zuken expects its business related to Dassault Systemes software and services to generate a multi-million dollar business."
Dassault Systemes is in the process of delivering a complete next-generation cabling solution leveraging V5 innovations. This solution will cover the end-to-end processes from the logical, with the capability that Zuken's Cabling Designer offers, to generative rule based physical design, to generative rule based manufacturing, engineering and documentation, to after sales and maintenance.
"This partnership with Zuken is a key response to our customer's strategic requirements to get the best in class integrated cabling solution," stated Dominique Florack, Dassault Systemes executive vice president, research and development. "In supplying an end-to-end, database driven, collaborative design environment, we will provide our customers with a unique competitive advantage. Zuken's endorsement of Dassault Systemes' V5 strategy demonstrates again our commitment to better serve, with leading partners in their respective domains, the manufacturing industries."
V5 supports information and knowledge from product definition, manufacturing process and resource definition as well as the management of the entire product lifecycle. V5's open architecture enables software partners to complement Dassault Systemes applications with key expertise, providing customers with the largest portfolio of CAA V5-based applications.
About Dassault Systemes Software Community Program
The Dassault Systemes Software Community Program (SCP) provides Independent Software Vendors (ISV) with the next generation, open V5 architecture, and comprehensive support, to deliver best-in-class integrated PLM/SCM/CRM/ERP applications. SCP Gold Partners are development companies that share Dassault Systemes goals to support and continuously improve customer business processes by delivering a consistent product portfolio. Partners develop, market and sell innovative products based on the Dassault Systemes V5 Component Application Architecture, which enables seamlessly operation of their products with CATIA, ENOVIA and DELMIA V5. In order to ensure timely and compatible product releases, Dassault Systemes provides its partners with a unique and privileged access to early development code, and with advanced technical and marketing support. Dassault also tests each product release to certify its high quality and compliance with CAA V5 standards, to better serve the needs of mutual customers.
