News from Kenworth: Kenworth Offers New Cummins ISX-530 Horsepower Engine Rating

KIRKLAND, Wash., July 13, 2001 - Kenworth Truck Company now offers the new Cummins ISX-530 horsepower engine rating for its lineup of T2000, T600, T800, W900 and C500 models. The ISX-530 with Intebrake is rated at 530 horsepower at 2,000 rpm and provides 1,850 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,200 rpm. The new rating will especially appeal to heavy haulers and truckload customers who need extra power. In addition, the ISX-530 is equipped with a higher performance engine brake, which rates up to 600 hp. The ISX-530 also shares the same hardware -- turbocharger & controls, pistons, injectors, ECM calibration -- as other Cummins Signature Series engines.
