Federal-Mogul Appoints Rene Dalleur Senior Vice President, Global Friction Products

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., July 12 Rene Dalleur has been named to
the new position of senior vice president, global friction products, for
Federal-Mogul Corporation .  He will be based in Wiesbaden,
Germany, reporting to Federal-Mogul President and Chief Operating Officer Chip
McClure.
    Dalleur, 48, will lead the company's $700 million global brake friction
materials business, which develops, manufactures and distributes disc brake
pads, shoes and related products for original equipment (OE) manufacturers and
aftermarket customers in the automotive, heavy-duty truck and rail industries.
Federal-Mogul operates 18 friction manufacturing plants in 10 countries.
    Dalleur had been vice president, igniton/wipers and sealing systems,
Europe, for Federal-Mogul since November 2000.  He joined Federal-Mogul with
the acquisition of Cooper Industries' automotive unit in 1998.
    "Rene brings extensive general management experience and a strong global
perspective to this key leadership role," said Chip McClure.  "His track
record of working with a broad range of customers will be a strength in
leading our global friction business, which serves a variety of OE and
aftermarket customers."
    Federal-Mogul's aftermarket friction brands include Wagner(R) brake
products in North America and Ferodo(TM) brake pads, shoes, rotors and
commercial vehicle blocks in Europe.
    Dalleur will retain his responsibility for ignition and wipers in Europe,
pending a replacement appointment.  Dalleur was director and general manager
for ignition/wipers, Europe, upon joining Federal-Mogul in 1998.  He has held
positions in engineering, purchasing, plant and general management in the
automotive and aerospace industries. Dalleur has a degree in mechanical
engineering and a diploma in management from the University of Louvain,
Belgium.
