Hachey, vice president of Delphi Automotive Systems and president, Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems. "We can offer our global customers experience and engineering expertise, a complete range of integrated services and the highest quality custom-designed components." Delphi also offers its customers solutions for the entire engine management system, from the flow of air and fuel into the engine to the combustion processes through the exhaust system. "By leveraging Delphi's expertise in hot end exhaust aftertreatment and engine control systems, we can provide customers with integrated emission solutions which in the end, result in low vehicle cost," said Jeffrey M. Krause, Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems business line executive for fuel handling & exhaust systems. "Delphi is constantly working to link the converter and catalyst design with the engine management system for an optimized emissions solution." Delphi exhaust emission technology includes the following: * Catalytic Converters - Catalytic converters make vehicles more environmentally friendly and help meet low exhaust emissions requirements. The engine exhaust gas is collected in the exhaust manifold and routed through a catalytic converter system before it leaves the tailpipe. Delphi manufactures various types of converters for both gasoline and diesel applications including seamless designs for close coupled and under-floor locations. Having pioneered the converter industry in the 1970s, Delphi is a clear leader in terms of durability and performance. * Catalysts - The catalyst inside the converter facilitates the chemical reactions that change the potentially harmful compounds (primarily hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and oxides of nitrogen) into less harmful gases.
