TOLEDO, OHIO - The ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series, in its 3rd season of competition, is headed for Chicago. Chicago Motor Speedway, in Cicero, Illinois, will host the versatile ARCA trucks August 17-18, with an inaugural 50-lap main event. The ARCA race will serve as a show-opener to the NASCAR Sears Craftsman 175 scheduled as the main event.

"Chicago auto racing fans are certainly getting their money's worth with the addition of the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series to our Sears Craftsman 175 weekend," said Pete Merkel, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Chicago Motor Speedway. "The ARCA Trucks are the perfect complement to the NASCAR Trucks. It should provide for an action-packed weekend."

The event, spread out over a two-day format, gets going with two practice sessions on Friday separated by Old Milwaukee Pole Award qualifying for the ARCA Trucks at 3 PM local time. The 50-lap main event is scheduled to roll off at 1:30 PM on Saturday just prior to the Sears Craftsman 175.

“Chicago Motor Speedway is a first-class facility,” said ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series director Mike Hewer. “We’re very fortunate to have the opportunity; the Chicago market is huge, and to have representation there is, without question, a major plus for the series. And to compete on the same day with the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series further adds to the excitement and prestige.”

In addition to the series making its first appearance at Chicago Motor Speedway, the event also marks the first appearance of the ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series on a track greater than a 5/8ths-mile. Representative of ARCA’s premier touring series, the versatile ARCA RE/MAX Series, the ARCA trucks also compete on both pavement and clay surfaces.

Located less than 10 miles from downtown Chicago, Chicago Motor Speedway will also host the Third Annual CART Target Grand Prix, July 27-29. For additional information on events at Chicago Motor Speedway, including ticket information, call (773) 242-2277 or visit www.chicagomotorspeedway.com.
