Newstream.com Digest: Lexus Tops J.D. Power and Associates Customer Service Study, Boeing and IBM Create World's Most Powerful Satellite Digital Communications Processor
NEW YORK--July 11, 2001--IMPORTANT NEWS FOR JOURNALISTS WHO DOWNLOAD OUR VIDEOS. As of July 9, we are no longer creating "SureStream" multiple-bit-rate streaming files on new videos added to the site. We found that the need to create these SureStream videos limited the quality we have been able to offer you while increasing the size of the files you must download. Instead, from now on we will offer NINE downloadable individual stream files for each video - one each for dialup (56k) users, medium-speed connections (100k) and very high speed connections (300k), with each rate available for RealPlayer, Windows Media and QuickTime.
For the time being, we will continue to provide our "preview" files only in a version for RealVideo - the other formats and qualities, however, will be available to you for downloading for use on your own sites in any way you choose. As always, there is no charge to you.
