Motion Industries is Warner Electric's Distributor of the Year for 2000

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--July 11, 2001--Birmingham-based Motion Industries was recently named Warner Electric's Distributor of the Year for 2000, marking the first time a national, or chain, distributor has earned the award. The award was presented to Motion Industries Chairman and CEO Bill Stevens at Motion Industries' corporate headquarters by Warner Electric Manager of Distributor Support Wendell Witten, Vice President of Sales Gerald Ferris, and Manager of Distributor Relations Bob Sherard.

    The award is given each year to the top performer as selected by the management of Warner Electric. Nomination is according to a fourteen-point set of criteria, including length of relationship; sales growth pattern over the past three years; sales and product training participation; ability to function independently for both inside and outside sales efforts; creative selling and marketing programs; penetration and reputation in the Warner Electric authorized market area; and integrity as business persons. For the year 2000, Warner evaluated the performance of more than 1,500 participating authorized distributorships before selecting Motion Industries.
