Sensors Expo & Conference Spring 2001 Enjoys Record Attendance; Wireless Sensing Standards Forum Plays to SRO Crowd

PETERBOROUGH, N.H.--July 11, 2001--Sensors Expo and Conference, Spring, June 4-7, 2001 held in Chicago enjoyed record attendance. Benefiting from crossover attendance between the International Robots and Vision show and Finishing 2001 (sponsored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers), the combined audience for all three events is expected to surpass 8,000 once registration figures are finalized.
The Keynote Address, given by Dr. Harley Thronson, Technology Director Space Science Enterprise, NASA Headquarters, played to a packed crowd of more than 350 engineers. Dr. Thronson "wowed" the audience with spectacular images of outer space and a description of NASA's future mission to reach Saturn and beyond.
The free Forum on Wireless Sensing Standards, sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society's TC9, Technical Committee on Sensor Technology was a "resounding success" on Monday with standing room only for much of the day" said Pam Roth, Sensors Expo Conference Director.
"The Expo was a tremendous success for our company", said Wayne Green, Vice President Marketing, Nanotron. "Not only did we win a Best of Sensors Expo award for our single axis miniature tilt sensor, but we also received the Show Stopper Award as voted by the attendees for the same product, it can't get any better than that. I don't know of any other event where you can meet face to face with so many high quality buyers from industries you are trying to reach." "We plan on exhibiting at Sensors Expo and Conference Fall, in Philadelphia, because these shows deliver the audience we are looking for" said Wayne.
Sensors Expo and Conference is held spring and fall annually. The next Expo will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia, PA, Oct 1-4, 2001. For information regarding this event, call Sensors Expo and Conference, Peterborough, NH, 603-924-5400.
