Hiskey Wins at Road America

Hiskey Wins at Road America

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ELKHART LAKE, Wisconsin (July 8, 2001) - Kim Hiskey's first trip to Road America proved to be a very productive one. Starting on the pole in the Grand American Rolex Series GT Class, the #15 Fordahl Motorsports/Crazy Redhead Racing Porsche GT3-RS held on to its lead until the end of the race.

"The car was in perfect condition today," Hiskey said. "We didn't make any mistakes. We just went out there and raced."

Hiskey's co-driver Randy Pobst started the race and drove the first two stints. On Lap 31 Pobst spun the #15 machine in Turn 5 and got it back on the track. Hiskey climbed on board the #15 machine at the2 ½ hour mark.

"I couldn't wait to get out there during the race," Hiskey said. "There are some great drivers in our class and I really enjoy competing against them."

Hiskey credits a lot of her driving skills to her competitors.

"Every time I come to the track I learn something new from these guys," Hiskey explained. "Driving this season with Randy has really helped me sharpen my driving skills."

Hiskey made her mark in the record books earlier this season as the first female class winner in the Grand-Am Series when she and Pobst won the Sun Automotive 200 in Phoenix.

Hiskey's next event will be the American Le Mans Series race in Portland where she will be aboard the Alex Job Racing Porsche 911 GT3-RS.
