GenesisIntermedia Added to Final Russell 2000 Index

LOS ANGELES--July 10, 2001--GenesisIntermedia Inc. (Frankfurt:GIA) today announced that it has been added to the final Russell 2000(R) Index.
The reconstituted index took effect July 1, 2001 and 2001 additions were announced on July 9.
"This is an important milestone for GenesisIntermedia. Our addition to the Russell 2000 Index boosts the visibility of our common stock to a larger institutional base, and will result in more opportunities for institutional buying of GENI common stock," said Ramy El-Batrawi, chairman and chief executive officer. "Increased institutional purchasing of our shares is in alignment with our goal to promote stability and shareholder value."
The Russell 2000(R) helps institutions and investors evaluate fund performance and determine short- and long-term investment trends by providing an objective benchmark for the overall stock market. Each year the Frank Russell Company ranks the 3,000 largest stocks in the U.S. equity market by capitalization as of May 31, creating the Russell 3000(R) Index. The 2,000 smallest companies in the Russell 3000(R) make up the widely used Russell 2000(R) Index.
Russell indices are rebalanced annually using objective criteria, primarily market capitalization, and do not reflect any subjective inclusion criteria or committee decisions.
