American Axle & Manufacturing Awarded Driveline Design and Manufacturing Responsibilities for Future GM Vehicles

    DETROIT, July 10 American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings,
Inc. (AAM), which is traded as AXL on the NYSE, announced today that it had
been selected as a driveline system and module supplier for a major future
General Motors Corporation product program.
    In addition, AAM will be the systems integrator for the future program,
with responsibility for driveline system, module and component design.
