    CAYEY, Puerto Rico--July 9, 2001--Payless Car Rental has opened its 15th Puerto Rico franchise in Cayey as part of the company's aggressive development plan to double the number of worldwide franchise locations by the end of 2002.
    The Cayey location will cater to local residents and businesses. "Cayey is a growing and progressive city and Payless will be the first car rental company to enter the market," said Nilda Cancel Garcia, Payless franchise area developer for Puerto Rico. "Residents currently have to travel over 45 minutes to get to the closest car rental agency."
    The fleet consists of model year 2000 and 2001, low mileage vehicles including compact and intermediate cars, mini vans, pick up trucks and cargo vans, plus specialty vehicles such as sports utility trucks and the popular Chrysler PT Cruiser.
    Carlos Padilla Cancel, president of Millennium Auto Rental, Inc. is the owner of the Cayey franchise. Cancel currently operates another Payless in Guayama, Puerto Rico. The Cayey Payless Car Rental is located at Urb Los Laureles, Bo Monte Llanos Road.
