NASCAR Aftermarket Program Featured at AAPEX
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., July 9 The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing announced today its plans to showcase its Automotive Aftermarket Program and its 30-licensed brands at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo held October 30 to November 2, 2001 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. Based on the popularity of the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, NASCAR Busch Grand National Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series racing and the affinity the sport's 63 million fans have toward edge-of-the-seat racing action, NASCAR's Aftermarket program allows manufacturers of NASCAR Officially Licensed products to capture that excitement at the consumers point of purchase. NASCAR will set up a complete studio on the show floor to broadcast NASCAR Tech TV with hosts Ned Jarrett, a two-time NASCAR Winston Cup Champion, and Stephanie Durner. The weekly program airs Sundays on Fox Sports Net prior to Fox's coverage of NASCAR Winston Cup racing. AAPEX visitors will also experience the excitement of NASCAR Winston Cup racing through an interactive DAYTONA USA exhibit. DAYTONA USA will set up a "Pit Stop Challenge" display to allow trade visitors the opportunity to try their skills at beating the quick reaction time of a NASCAR team member servicing a car on pit row. In addition, DAYTONA USA will have interactive displays with examples of motorsports history and technology. "AAPEX is an ideal venue for our program and our licensees to exhibit and showcase the power of the NASCAR brand," said Odis Lloyd, director, NASCAR Automotive Aftermarket. "The trade show also gives us an opportunity to show support for the automotive industry as a whole. This year we have expanded our showroom exhibit and brought along the set from NASCAR Tech TV as well as an exhibit from Daytona USA. AAPEX has always been a place where the top industry minds get together to discuss the future of our industry." AAPEX is the annual trade show representing the $250 billion North American retail and service aftermarket and features nearly 2,000 exhibitors. In conjunction with AAIW, it is attended by more than 83,000 trade visitors from around the world. AAPEX is jointly sponsored by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA). For more information, visit http://www.AAPEXShow.com
