ALPNET Expands Services With DAF Trucks; ALPNET Enables DAVIE XD Diagnostics System for the European Market

ALPNET Expands Services With DAF Trucks; ALPNET Enables DAVIE XD Diagnostics System for the European Market

SALT LAKE CITY, July 9 ALPNET , one of the
largest, publicly owned, dedicated providers of complete multilingual
information management solutions, announced today that DAF Trucks from The
Netherlands has contracted ALPNET for the translation of its state-of-the-art
diagnostics system into more than ten languages. This diagnostics system,
called DAVIE XD, is a tool that supports the maintenance and dealer support of
DAF commercial vehicles. ALPNET has been servicing DAF Trucks for over five
years with the production of after sales documentation in six European
languages, on average.
"ALPNET has been a reliable partner of DAF Trucks for many years in their
support of our multilingual after sales documentation," commented Age Knossen,
Manager of After Sales Publications at DAF Trucks in The Netherlands. "With
the DAVIE XD diagnostics system we are moving further away from paper-based
support to online diagnostics and service systems. ALPNET's experience in the
information services market helps make this transition smoother."
Another recent development is the implementation by ALPNET of a Content
Management System based on XML. This system allows DAF to respond quickly and
efficiently to the requests for new and electronic information and other
publication media. The first phase of this implementation has recently been
successfully finalized. Thanks to this unique solution DAF is able to shorten
the time-to-market and reduce costs of their publications.
"We are very pleased with the expanded services we are now offering DAF
Trucks," commented Jaap van der Meer, President of ALPNET. "DAF is one of our
largest clients in the automotive industry, a sector in which ALPNET is a key
service provider. As commercial vehicles are increasingly equipped with
information technology features, translation and engineering represent more
complex, non-core challenges for manufacturers such as DAF Trucks. More than
ever, having a reliable, experienced information service provider becomes
critical."
