CALKINS CONTINUES STREAK AT KANSAS

KANSAS CITY, KAN., Sunday, July 8, 2001 - Buzz Calkins, of Denver, continued
his streak of consecutive events running at the checkered flag today with a
13th-place finish here at Kansas Speedway. Starting 18th, the Bradley Food
Marts/ Sav-O-Mat Dallara fought through handling difficulties and the Kansas
heat to take the 37th checkered flag of his 48-race Indy Racing career in
the Ameristar Casino Indy 200.
The 30 year-old driver, who holds the record of consecutive races running at
the finish at 13, has finished ten straight races to date going back to
Kentucky of 2000.
Calkins maintained a top-ten points position, held since the season-opener,
with the finish. The #12 Bradley Food Marts/ Sav-O-Mat entry is currently
ninth in Northern Light Series points with 156 markers. The top-fifteen
finish earned Bradley Motorsports $40,500.
"We're disappointed," said the 1996 Indy Racing Northern Light Series
co-champion about his day. "We worked on the Bradley Food Marts/ Sav-O-Mat
Dallara all day but could never get the handling right."
Bradley Petroleum owns 65 convenience stores and gas stations in Colorado,
New Mexico and Wyoming operating under the Bradley Food Mart and Sav-O-Mat
names.
The Bradley Food Marts/ Sav-O-Mat Dallara-Oldsmobile will move on to its
third straight event at a new track on July 21st at Nashville Superspeedway.
The team will test at the Nashville concrete oval on Tuesday, July 10th.
