American Axle & Manufacturing Announces Executive Appointments
DETROIT, July 2 American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings, Inc. (AAM), which is traded as AXL on the NYSE, today announced the following executive appointments. David J. Demos has been appointed president and chief operating officer at AAM's wholly-owned subsidiary, Colfor Manufacturing, Inc., based in Malvern, Ohio. Prior to his current appointment, Demos served as AAM's vice president, Strategic Planning & Business Development. Demos joined AAM on March 1, 1994 as director of Sales & Marketing and has served as the company's vice president Sales & Marketing as well as vice president of Procurement. Demos began his career as a college-graduate-in-training with General Motors Corporation in 1973. Throughout his 21 years at GM, he served as a materials engineer, process engineer, plant metallurgist and manager of Quality Assurance. He also served as manager of sales, marketing and planning for GM Steering Systems. He was GM's director of the ACG Europe Chassis Technical Center, in France, where he was responsible for its construction, organization and staffing. Demos was also chief engineer, as well as sales, marketing and planning director of the European business unit of Saginaw Division. Upon returning to the United States in 1992, Demos became chief engineer of GM Final Drive Systems. "David has demonstrated a keen understanding of the total manufacturing process from engineering and metallurgy to sales, marketing, procurement and strategic planning," said AAM Co-Founder, Chairman & CEO Richard E. Dauch. "His expertise will be invaluable in setting the future course of our Colfor subsidiary." Charles B. Comeau has been appointed director, Cost Estimating & Industrial Engineering. Prior to his current assignment, Comeau was director, Program Management. Brian W. McKenna has been named director, Program Management. Most recently, McKenna served as director, Sales. Michael J. Pannucci has been appointed director, Advanced Quality Planning. Prior to his current assignment, Pannucci served as director, Advanced Programs & Cost Estimating.
