CHICAGO, July 3 Car shoppers who want more than prices, reviews and photos can now explore the interiors of current model year vehicles with 360-degree surround interior videos on cars.com. With more than half of all new car shoppers now researching their purchase online before buying, cars.com continues to expand its comprehensive set of research tools available to site visitors. This latest feature has been licensed to cars.com from the Internet Pictures Corp. (iPIX). (Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20000415/CARSLOGO ) "These iPIX-powered surround videos put visitors in the driver's seat. They can zoom in for a close-up or pan the interior of that new sports car, wagon or truck they've been eyeing," said Bill Swislow, Vice President and Executive Producer of cars.com. "These videos are another great tool to help cars.com users make smarter decisions about the cars they buy." Consumers can view iPIX 360-degree surround interiors by going to the cars.com 2001 Buying Guides series and selecting a vehicle. Almost every 2001 Buying Guide report has a "360 Surround Interior" button to the right of the car image. Clicking on this button will spawn a pop-up window with the embedded video for that particular vehicle. Users can navigate to additional surround views by selecting a model from the pull-down menu. In addition to the hundreds of 2001 360-degree interiors, site visitors can view videos of 1999 and 2000 models as well. The 360-degree views are the latest enhancement to cars.com's award-winning Buying Guide series, which feature reviews, pricing and specs and numerous photos for every production vehicle sold in the United States. The Buying Guides are just one of many reasons that cars.com is now one of the top online destinations for consumers doing automotive research. With its in-depth Vehicle Profile reviews, detailed pricing information, side-by-side comparisons and the ability for shoppers to get a quote for a new car or search through the site's extensive used-car inventory, it's no surprise why cars.com is one of the most popular online automotive destinations.
