Daewoo Motor America Remains Positive About Second Half of 2001

COMPTON, Calif., July 3 "While Daewoo's June sales result
was less than expected, we remain positive that we can reach our year end
sales goals," stated D.J. Lee, president and CEO of Daewoo Motor America. Lee
continued, "The news of the negotiations between the creditors of our parent
company and GM have had some effect on our sales, however we are confident in
our ability to sustain the business regardless of the final ownership of
Daewoo."
Gary Connelly, Daewoo's vice president, Sales and Operations stated,
"Even with the restructuring process taking place during the past few months
our dealers and our customers have retained their optimism in the future of
Daewoo. Our sales results remain close to the record pace of last year and we
believe we can sustain our momentum."
