MEDC President & CEO Plans to Meet with SPX Officials Next Week LANSING, Mich., July 3 Doug Rothwell, president & CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), announced today that he expects to meet with SPX Corporation officials next week to discuss plans to keep the company's headquarters in Michigan. Earlier today, SPX Corporation advised its corporate headquarter employees that it will relocate its corporate offices, currently located in Muskegon, within the next 12 months. The company named Charlotte, North Carolina and Fairfax County, Virginia as the two finalist locations for the new headquarters. "The company has selected two out of state sites as the potential new corporate headquarters," said Rothwell. "However, today company officials have expressed to Governor Engler that they are willing to listen to our ideas for keeping the corporate headquarters here and growing the corporation in Michigan. We are willing to pull out all the stops to keep this valued employer in the Great Lakes state."
