GTS Services Introduces glaspacLX(TM)

The Windows-Based Point-of-Sale Software That Enables
                      E-Commerce for the Glass Industry

PITTSBURGH, July 5 GTS Services, LLC, a wholly-owned
subsidiary of PPG Industries, Inc., today announced the introduction of a new
software package that integrates business management for glass retailers ...
it's called glaspacLX(TM).
The market leader in software solutions for auto glass and flat glass
retailers, GTS Services provides a broad range of products that have been long
available to fit just about every need. Products such as Breakaway(TM),
GlasPac-DOS, and GTS Windows are offered by GTS in various versions to closely
address the varying needs of the business.
"Now, with glaspacLX, we're taking the glass industry into the latest,
most advanced capabilities of the Windows platform," says Dan Czekalski, Vice
President - Sales and Marketing for GTS Services. "It's the logical next step
for shops that have been utilizing GlasPac-DOS or GTS Windows," he continues.
"And because glaspacLX is Windows-based, it's easy to use and understand.
Plus, this software package has a robust array of features that will
ultimately benefit the glass shops, and make them more efficient and
profitable."
"Years of development and millions of dollars have already been invested
to make this the software to have if you want to stay current with the ever
evolving glass industry," says Czekalski.
In addition, GTS says that its newest product offering will be the
foundation upon which it will develop new, exciting upgrades. The company
says that it intends to enhance the features of glaspacLX on a quarterly
basis.
"The glaspacLX software will be a point-of-sale system that revolutionizes
the way the glass industry communicates," says Jim Latch, General Manager,
LYNX Services, the nation's largest auto glass claims processor. Latch says
that because of the enhanced connectivity with claims processors, like LYNX,
and other business partners, glass retailers will see improved efficiencies.
In many instances they will automatically receive work orders from LYNX,
eliminating the need to type in information. The first enhancements to
glaspacLX are scheduled for release in the third quarter, and fourth quarter
enhancements will include electronic integration with LYNX Services. "This
will reduce administrative work and errors," says Czekalski. It will also
reduce EDI rejections and phone calls for authorizations, he says. "That's
time the glass shop could be spending with their customers." Glass ordering,
inventory management and invoicing will also be facilitated through the POS
system.
Another important aspect of glaspacLX is its flexibility. The software is
capable of including other products and services beyond just glass. GTS'
glaspacLX is also comprehensive enough to handle flat glass inventories, which
often contain thousands of items and custom options.
Czekalski also stated GTS has written a data conversion program providing
glass shops a seamless transition from their existing GlasPac-DOS or GTS
Windows into glaspacLX. "Unlike most other software changes," said Czekalski,
"this conversion will make it easier for glass shops to `cross the bridge' to
glaspacLX whenever they'd like."
"We believe that GTS products like glaspacLX and Breakaway will be the
cornerstones that will help glass professionals capitalize on new technology.
We'll provide them e-business solutions without requiring them to make huge
capital investments," said Czekalski. "Ultimately, GTS Services is focused on
enabling glass retailers to have access to many services to run their
businesses more efficiently and deliver a higher level of customer
satisfaction."
GTS Services, LLC, is headquartered in Portland, Oregon, and employs
approximately 60 people.
