DST MacDonald Expands into New, Custom-designed Facility

VALENCIA, Calif.-Motor vehicle aftermarket technology provider DST MacDonald has moved its headquarters into a new, custom-built, facility in Valencia. Located just north of Los Angeles, the new facility includes a secure DataCenter supporting e-commerce services, research and development for the PartSelect® catalog and related databases, and software development for business systems products aimed at the aftermarket supply chain.

The new Valencia location is linked by high-speed access to the firm’s Irvine location, which allows both locations to use the DataCenter’s common facilities. Software development and customer support for the IBM AS400, heavy-duty, and chain service dealer products will remain in Irvine.

The company’s new location is also equipped with state-of-the-art training and product demonstration facilities.

“We’re pleased that our company is poised for aggressive growth at a time when there’s been a significant melt-down of technology service providers,” says Bruce Adamson, president of DST MacDonald, Information Services. “We’ ve been in the industry for years and offer our customers the best of both worlds - the experience of a proven supplier, coupled with the ability to leverage the real power of new technologies. We are excited about what we can do with the new facility to continue to expand our business.”

DST MacDonald creates and markets Internet-linked, enterprise management systems for the automotive and heavy-duty aftermarkets, POS systems for stores and chain service dealers, integrated warehouse management and financial systems, a decision support/data warehouse, an electronic parts catalog and related databases. In addition, DST MacDonald provides a number of products and services linking to, and supporting the distributor’s professional service dealer and fleet customers.
