TBC Names Ken Dick President of Private Brands Division
MEMPHIS, Tenn.--July 3, 2001--TBC Corporation today announced the organization of a Private Brands Division and named Kenneth P. Dick as its President. Dick has previously served as TBC's Executive Vice President of Sales."This action strengthens our commitment to uphold TBC's position as the nation's leading marketer of private brand replacement tires," said Larry Day, President and Chief Executive Officer. TBC's growth over the last several years can be traced back to a strategic decision to focus on tires. The formation of the Private Brands Division, and dedication of additional corporate resources, will enhance this vital part of our business. No one in the industry is better suited to lead this Division than Ken Dick who has been the voice and face of TBC's private brands in the marketplace for over 30 years."
The TBC Private Brands Division will be responsible for the marketing and sales of TBC's proprietary private brands: Multi-Mile, Cordovan, Sigma and the newly-acquired Vanderbilt/Turbo-Tech line. The Division will also be responsible for Fulda and Sonar, two brands for which TBC has sole North American distribution rights. The Private Brands Division joins TBC's subsidiaries, Big O Tires, Carroll Tire and Tire Kingdom, in having its own President and distinct marketing and operating presence within the corporation.
Dick joined TBC in 1971 and during his 30 years at TBC has served in a number of sales management positions, working closely with the Company's customers. "TBC's private brands of passenger, light truck and SUV tires have grown to the point where they hold a dominant position in the U.S. replacement tire market," said Dick. "Through the formation of the Private Brands Division, TBC is making a strong commitment to continue that growth and provide our customers, and the independent tire dealers they serve, with the premier private brand tire programs in North America."
