    GREENVILLE, S.C., June 29 Michelin North America, Inc.
announced today that it has awarded its U.S. Michelin brand account to
Campbell-Ewald of Detroit.  The announcement comes after an extensive agency
review process.  Michelin North America placed its U.S. Michelin-brand account
in review earlier this year after a significant shift in the Michelin-brand
marketing strategy.

    The good news was delivered in person as the Michelin Man himself handed a
letter of intent from the brand to Campbell-Ewald President Jim Palmer.
    "We're excited about the possibilities our new partnership with Campbell-
Ewald will afford the Michelin brand," commented Pete Selleck, COO of Michelin
Americas Small Tires.  "All of the finalists were excellent candidates.
Ultimately, Campbell-Ewald proved to be the best fit for the U.S. Michelin-
brand and our strategic marketing plans for the future.  Now, the real work
begins."

    Campbell-Ewald will assume account responsibilities for the U.S. Michelin-
brand immediately.  Estimated annual billings for the U.S. account are
$35 million.
