NASCAR BGN: Jeff Green plans to continue dominance at Milwaukee

Jeff Green On Milwaukee: Jeff Green, 2000 NASCAR Busch Series Champion and driver of the No. 10 Nestlé Nesquik Ford Taurus, is the defending race winner at The Milwaukee Mile.

"Milwaukee is a flat track, a lot like Loudon, but it does not have the grip that Loudon does," said Green. "The surface is worn out and it wears your tires out quickly. You have to have a conservative setup and the driver has to be conservative with the throttle. The new motor program this year will make the cars spin the tires more off the corners and that is pretty much what everyone fights anyway. We'll certainly have to concentrate on that to make our car right. "

"We feel really confident in our package for Milwaukee despite the new motor program," said Green. " We almost won the race in 1999 and we dominated last year. I know there has never been a repeat winner at the Milwaukee Mile, so I'd like to become the first to break that record this year."

Missing In Action?: The Nesquik Racing team will be short one crew member this weekend. Billy Parker, who is a mechanic on the No. 10 Nesquik Racing team, will be making his second career start in the NASCAR Busch Series. Billy, who is the younger brother of Busch Series regular, Hank Parker, Jr., has one start under his belt. He competed in the 2000 NBS event at Memphis Motorsports Park where he started eighth and finished 35th. This will be his first start, competing under ppc Racing's ownership and he will be driving the No. 15 GNC Mega Men Ford Taurus.

Equipment: Green and his Nesquik Racing team are taking a fairly new car to Milwaukee. The car has only competed twice in its history, earlier this year at Loudon and Nazareth, where it finished fourth and third respectively.

  • · Green has completed 100% of the laps and has started and finished within the top-10 in all five starts
  • · Green's average start is 5.0 and finish is 3.25 at Milwaukee
  • · Green won from the pole in 2000
  • · Green holds the qualifying record at Milwaukee with a lap of 29.612 seconds (121.572 mph)
