TOLEDO OH – Defending ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series champion Robbin Slaughter had the field covered Friday night at Toledo Speedway. The Columbus, Ohio driver won the Old Milwaukee Pole Award and led every lap to win the 50 lap main event on the half-mile oval earning his sixth career ARCA Truck triumph in his 33rd attempt.

“We love the bigger half-mile tracks,” said Slaughter. “It seems to be our specialty. The handle on the Carmen’s Vacuum-NAPA Auto Parts Ford was perfect right from the start, and when you’ve got the right set-up, and keep yourself out of trouble, good things are going to happen. We understand this track, and it shows.”

In addition, Slaughter also picked up the Cloyes Gear Halfway Leader honors as well as the Revenge Pole/Win Award for winning from the pole.

Carlisle, Ohio driver David Clay finished a close second in the Carlisle Electric-Community Nat’l Bank-Select Construction Chevy with Pettisville, Ohio driver Tully Esterline, in the Spangler Candy Chevy, trailing in third. Fort Wayne, Indiana veteran Pete Wormcastle racked up his second consecutive top-five finish in fourth in the Witwer Racing Chevy while 1999 ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series champion Bill Withers completed the top-five finishers.

Newcomer Brett Oakley finished sixth in the MAR-FLEX Products Tegtmeyer’s Ford recording his second consecutive top-ten finish while Plainwell, Michigan driver Mark Otting finished seventh. Randy Kopka also notched his second consecutive top-ten run with an eighth place finish in the Braun Auto Group Ford ahead of Jeff Speakman in the Pennzoil-Nat’l Auto Lube Ford in ninth. Hamilton, Ohio veteran Johnny Witham won the Ed & Company Hard Charger Award for advancing the most positions, from 23rd to tenth in the final running order in AJ Pate’s Fab Shop Ford.

The versatile ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series heads to Michigan next with events scheduled on the Crystal Motor Speedway clay oval in Crystal on July 7 followed by Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run on July 13 and Flat Rock Speedway in Flat Rock on July 21.
