#1 Cochran's New Auto Retail Center Will Be Most Customer-Friendly in Region
MONROEVILLE, Pa.--June 25, 2001--#1 Cochran, the largest auto dealer in the tri-state area, has selected a site for construction of a new retail complex that will raise auto shopping and service to a new level in Western Pennsylvania. The more than 25-acre site is just east of the Pennsylvania Turnpike exit, about a mile from #1 Cochran's present location, in the former Kaufmann's department store along Business Route 22 in Monroeville. The new facility will feature four new showrooms, an express auto-service center for routine maintenance, and an on-site restaurant.
"#1 Cochran has been providing great value and award-winning customer service to Western Pennsylvania auto shoppers for thirty six years, and our new showrooms and service centers will make our Monroeville store the best retail facility of its kind in the region," said Rob Cochran, president of #1 Cochran.
The new site is scheduled to open February 2003. #1 Cochran has reached an agreement to lease its present site to Lowe's, the national hardware chain.
"Our move to a new site is exciting and will create some juggling for us, but it will have minimal impact on sales or customer service," Cochran said. He added that customers will receive letters in the mail providing details about the plan and its effect on operations. Customers with questions also may call #1 Cochran at 412/373-3333, ext. 2010.
With stores in Monroeville and Robinson, #1 Cochran is the largest auto dealer in Western Pennsylvania and one of the largest in the nation. Its brands include Pontiac, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, GMC Trucks, Hyundai, Saturn and Infiniti.
Construction of the new facility is scheduled to begin by the end of 2001, pending necessary approvals by local and state authorities.
"#1 Cochran remains committed to being a good corporate citizen and friend to the local community," Cochran said. "We are working closely with Monroeville and other government officials to make sure our plans meet all local and state regulations, and we remain confident that we can successfully complete this process in timely fashion."
