June 24, 2001"The balance of my car was very good for qualifying," said Gugelmin. "I pretty much got everything out of it I could and I have no complaints. Starting 11th is not a bad position, we just need to figure out a way to get into the second group for qualifying in the future. Tracks always get better and better every time we go out, so the second group always puts up faster times than the first group. I think for raceday I'll need a bit more grip but I'm very happy with the way my Toyota Reynard package has been working all year. My Nextel team has given me a great car all weekend, so I'm ready to go racing."
