Michael Andretti, No. 39 Motorola/Honda-Reynard

"There might have been one more tenth left in the car and that might have gained us one position. It was a bit like dirt tracking out there for me today and we were really struggling so I just did the best I could do. The start here can sometimes be tro uble so I just need to stay clear and try to get through turn one and hope that we can turn this into a good finish."

Position: 16th
Time: 58.572 seconds/ 121.020 mph
2000 Start/Finish: 11th / 4th

Eddie Jones, Chief Engineer

"Hopefully we can make some right decisions for the race tomorrow. I think the car was pretty bad for Michael in qualifying, very bad actually. When we are 16th on the grid with Michael there's something wrong. We'll get together with the other drivers and engineers on Team Green and sort something out for the race. If we can do that, Michael will go forward with the car to what we hope is a podium finish."
