LOUISVILLE, KY . The Auto Channel will bring you special and exclusive video and audio coverage of the Ford Motor Company Fund announcment of their significant donation to the Muhammad Ali Center in a ceremony on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at the Belvedere in downtown Louisville.
The Muhammad Ali Center will be located on the riverfront in Louisville, KY, the hometown of Muhammad Ali. Worldwide education programs based on the themes of the Muhammad Ali Center (conflict resolution, diversity/multicultural training) will be developed and delivered in the Center and via the Internet, distance learning technology, and publications to schoolchildren and other groups worldwide.
The Muhammad Ali Center will include the Muhammad Ali Institute for Peacemaking and Conflict Resolution, a partnership with the University of Louisville. The mission of the Muhammad Ali Center is "to preserve and share the legacy and ideals of Muhammad Ali, to promote respect, hope and understanding, and to inspire people everywhere to be as great as they can be." The Institute will address the social issues and values that have been important to Muhammad Ali's life including cultural respect, human rights, diversity, and the peaceful resolution of conflict.
