Weekend Event of Aerial Maneuvers, June 23-24
21st Century Insurance has announced its participation as the platinum sponsor of the Van Nuys Aviation Expo 2001, the largest free family event in Los Angeles, which will be held at the Van Nuys Airport on Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24.
"The Triumph of Flight" is this year's theme of the expo, which is expected to attract more than 300,000 people and will showcase the history of flight from rare vintage warbirds to modern military aircraft. Parachute demonstrations, entertainment and an all-day aerial parade will also be featured.
"As the city's largest, free family event, the expo raises thousands of dollars through the generous donations of platinum sponsors like 21st Century, which go to support local nonprofit youth and service organizations," said Van Nuys Airport Manager Selena Birk.
Proceeds from concession stands at the two-day air show will also go to dozens of area nonprofit organizations. In addition, a portion of all sponsorship contributions will be used to support the annual Aviation Expo scholarship fund, which is administered by the San Fernando Valley Chapter of the Ninety-Nines.
