North Carolina Speedway And General Mills Announce Extension Of Title Sponsorship Agreement

    ROCKINGHAM, N.C.--June 20, 2001--North Carolina Speedway and General Mills have signed a title sponsorship agreement that extends the naming rights of the fall NASCAR weekend at the 1.017-mile superspeedway located in Rockingham, North Carolina, officials announced today.
    The Sam's Club 200 NASCAR Busch Series race is scheduled for Saturday, November 3 followed by the Pop Secret Microwave Popcorn 400 on Sunday, November 4.
    "North Carolina Speedway is thrilled about continuing our successful partnership with General Mills," stated Chris Browning, Executive Vice-President and General Manager, North Carolina Speedway. "We have truly enjoyed working with everyone at General Mills, and look forward to developing even more exciting and unique promotions for our fans."
    North Carolina Speedway traditionally hosts the first and last NASCAR events in the Carolinas each season. General Mills became the title sponsor of North Carolina Speedway's fall NASCAR weekend in 1999.

    Weekend activity begins Friday, November 2 with qualifying for the Sam's Club 200 and Pop Secret Microwave Popcorn 400. Saturday's events include the Union 76/ Rockingham World Pit Crew Competition and the running of the Sam's Club 200. NASCAR's top division, the Winston Cup Series, will compete Sunday in the Pop Secret Microwave Popcorn 400.
