RACO Launches Turnkey Vehicle Location Tracking Solution

CINCINNATI--June 20, 2001--RACO Industries Inc. (www.racoindustries.com) announced today that the TR101 L-Biz(TM) Tracker, a key component of its turnkey wireless location system, is now operational.
This catapults RACO into the mobile asset tracking field, in addition to their historic focus on the bar coding and data collection industry. The Tracker is an LSP (Location Services Provider) server offering mapping, wireless network access, and Internet connectivity. The Tracker software and tracking devices are products of PowerLOC Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Paradigm Advanced Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:PRAV).
In February 2001, RACO entered into an LSP agreement with PowerLOC, allowing RACO to sell and distribute PowerLOC's GPS (Global Positioning System) mobile units and services to key accounts and other value-added resellers of data collection equipment in North America.
"With more than 18,000 clients and value-added resellers nationwide, and with a solid automotive aftermarket network, the ability to provide the PowerLOC L-Biz(TM) tracking systems products and services is a strong addition to our business model. This opportunity with Paradigm adds a strategic component to our marketing, helping us develop new business prospects and capitalize on the rapidly expanding asset-location space," commented Rob Adams, CEO of RACO.
"We are delighted to be partners with an industry leader such as RACO to provide location tracking solutions to their customers across North America. We believe RACO Industries will quickly derive benefits from deployment of our advanced asset tracking system," stated Paradigm's President and CEO Eduardo Guendelman. "We are continuously developing exciting new applications for our innovative PowerLOC L-Biz(TM), L-Commerce products."
Analysts estimate the scope of the telematics industry will grow to exceed five billion dollars by 2005. Mr. Adams estimates that over the next year to eighteen months that RACO will sell fifty thousand units. Units retail between $399.00 and $549.00, and monthly rate plans begin as low as $15.95.
The PowerLOC technology enables dispatchers, managers, and individuals to monitor the current position and status of vehicles, or other mobile assets like boats and construction equipment, track them and generate reports. The system has three main elements: a GPS receiver which receives location information from the satellite; a mobile device, which takes the GPS information and transmits it; and a web site where a subscriber can see where a vehicle is, where it's been, and run reports. Additional features include unique messages, panic button, crash detection, and a geo fence that sets an electronic fence around the vehicle.
