NASCAR WCUP: Schrader hopes work at Sears Point improves passing

"When they worked on the track a few years ago they took out the two places where you could pass, but we hope all the work they've been doing is going to help that. Steve Page and those guys have done a lot of work, so we'll wait and see what happens when we all get out there trying to pass one another. We didn't test at Sears Point, but I've talked to a couple of guys who have and it should be interesting."--Ken Schrader
Schrader's Sears Point Highlights...
The "M&M's"® Racing Team is taking a new car to Sears Point Raceway. In preparation for the upcoming race, the Newt Moore-led crew tested the road course at Virginia International Raceway on Tuesday, June 5.
The entire "M&M's"® Racing Team enjoyed a solid weekend at Pocono Raceway, picking up their fourth top-10 finish of the season as well as their best starting position in 2001. As the team continues to gain momentum heading to the halfway mark of the 2001 season, the Newt Moore/Ken Schrader combination is one of the best stories in the Winston Cup garage. Since the hiring of Moore, the "M&M's"® Racing Team has collected four top 10s (Atlanta, Texas, Richmond and Pocono) and been solidly running in the top-10 twice more before enduring some 'bad racing luck'.
Driver Ken Schrader and the "M&M's"® Racing are looking to recapture some of the Sears Point glory that the Fenton, Mo., native has enjoyed in his career. In 12 starts at the track Schrader has six top 10s including two top fives. The "M&M's"® Racing Team finished 15th in their last visit to California's wine country.
