Micrografx Extends 6-Sigma Agreement to Ford Suppliers; Benefits of Ford Relationship Made Available To Ford Suppliers

DALLAS--June 19, 2001--Micrografx Inc. (OTCBB:MGXI), today announced, that in conjunction with its selection by Ford Motor Company as an integral component of Ford's Customer Driven 6-Sigma Program, that Micrografx will be making many of the benefits of Ford's decision available to Ford suppliers. This will allow Ford suppliers, implementing their own 6-Sigma efforts, to leverage the groundwork done by Ford with their decision.
These benefits include special volume pricing, access to training services and materials, and consulting services designed to accelerate 6-Sigma projects and the benefits derived from iGrafx Six Sigma Solutions.
6-Sigma is a methodology companies use to improve business processes, resulting in increased efficiency and effectiveness. "Ultimately, any organization striving for world class operations must expect the same from their suppliers," said Daniel T. Laux, President of Six Sigma Academy. "Ford will need the participation of its suppliers to achieve its long term goals and the use of shared best practices and tools can be a significant accelerator to the process."
"As competitive pressures and stringent process requirements continue to increase, we believe that cross organizational process issues will become of paramount concern when evaluating suppliers and partners" said Ken Carraher, Division President of Enterprise Process Management Group for Micrografx. "Those organizations that have compatible Enterprise Process Management systems in place will become the first choice."
