Pickups Plus Company Store Sales Up 15% for Month of May
MASON, Ohio--June 19, 2001--Pickups Plus, Inc. (OTCBB:PUPS), a leading retailer and franchiser in the $30 billion truck and SUV aftermarket accessories industry, announced today that their company stores sales were up 15% in the month of May, compared to same stores sales of the previous year."This is the second consecutive month when all of our corporate stores showed an increased in sales," said Sean Fitzgerald, Executive Vice President. "Our corporate store sales are up 15% for May and up 11% so far this quarter, compared to 2000."
Mr. Fitzgerald attributes the growth to: improved management sales training, targeted advertising, and increased brand awareness. "We feel the name Pickups Plus is beginning to get out and we hope some day that when truck and SUV owners think of truck accessories, they will think of Pickups Plus," stated Fitzgerald.
Year to date, trucks have represented 52.6% of total North American passenger automotive production. In addition, three out of the five top selling vehicles in the U.S. are trucks or SUVs as well.
