USAC Russell Triple Crown: Fonferko looks for repeat at Sears Point

Ross Fonferko of Wheaton, Ill. will try to maintain his lead in the USAC Russell Pro Triple Crown Championship this weekend at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

Fonferko won the series opener May 5 at Bakersfield, Calif. and leads runner-up David Mayhew by five points going into this Saturday's 30-minute race at the 2.52-mile road course.

Once again, lady driver Christine Saunders will seek a "top-10" finish after placing 11th at Bakersfield. She scored a first and a third in Formula Russell competition at Sears Point the weekend of June 9-10.
