USAC: Bobby East scores initial USAC victory at Anderson

Sixteen-year-old Bobby East of Brownsburg, Ind. scored his initial USAC feature victory in Saturday night's 30-lap "regional" Midget Car race at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway.

East, the son of famed car builder and former driver Bob East, piloted his Team ASE/Consani Racing Pink Chevy/Beast to the win, taking the lead from lady driver Sarah McCune on the 25th lap. McCune finished second, ahead of Ted Beach, Richie Jacobs and Ron Gregory.

East also posted the night's fastest qualifying time and won the 10-lap semi. Heat winners included Brian Gerster, A.J. Felker and Chris Gabehart.
