AP TECHNOGLASS NAMES THOMAS THROOP Vice President Market
Development and Technology
FLORENCE, Ky., June 15 AP Technoglass, North America's
fastest growing automotive glass supplier, has announced the promotion of
Thomas J. Throop to the recently created position of Vice President Market
Development and Technology.

Throop, who will now report directly to the President, is a 13-year
veteran of AP Technoglass, serving in various technical, sales and marketing
positions. His new responsibilities include: Business Planning, Product
Design, New Product Development, Quotation Support, Value Chain Management,
Capacity Management/PPS and Information Technology. Throop, who holds an
engineering degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from the
University of Toledo, starts his new duties immediately.
Jay Strong, AP Technoglass President, characterized the new management
spot as a major oversight position supporting the company's Total Solutions
strategy: "One aspect of Total Solutions is dissecting, analyzing and
addressing anticipated requirements of the automotive glazing market. To
accomplish this, we've brought the necessary competencies together under one
business development function. Tom will also work closely with Asahi (the
multinational parent of AP Technoglass) and our suppliers to capitalize on our
global strengths in automotive glass and glazing assemblies."
AP Technoglass Company, an affiliate of Asahi Glass America, manufactures
automotive glass and glazing assemblies in Ohio, Kentucky and Mexico for
domestic and export markets.
