News from Kenworth: MHC Kenworth in Dallas Receives Award

KIRKLAND, Wash., June 13, 2001 - MHC Kenworth-Dallas has won the "Public
Image Award" awarded annually by the Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association
(TACA). It was the first ever award to a TACA allied member, which includes
truck dealers and materials suppliers to the concrete and aggregates
industry in Texas.

MHC Kenworth won the award in the "most improved, existing plant" category
for a support industry. The award was presented to Gary Dodson and Bob
Bowden of MHC Kenworth at the Dallas dealership.

"It's a great honor," said Gary Dodson, branch manager of MHC
Kenworth-Dallas. "We've worked diligently on our facility for 18 months, and
consider this a compliment to all of our employees' hard work."

"This is an important award presented to only a few plants and facilities
each year," said TACA president Buck Weatherby. "We're recognizing MHC
Kenworth-Dallas because they have improved their facility so that it both
meets and surpasses government and community standards for appearance, air
emission controls and safety.

"It's a challenge to run a dealership and make it an attractive part of the
community at the same time," Weatherby said. "This is an impressive
accomplishment for both this company and their employees. They should be
proud of their efforts."

The annual Texas Plant Appearance Awards are presented in several categories
to recognize aggregates and concrete plants, and those in supporting
industries, which go above and beyond requirements to make their community
more attractive.

Dozens of allied members from across Texas competed for the prestigious
award this year. A panel of judges reviewed contestants' applications using
12 separate criteria, including plant appearance from neighborhood, safety
and government compliance.

The Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association is a statewide trade association
formed in 1951 and dedicated to advancing the interests of the aggregates
and concrete profession in Texas.
