Joseph Plomin, senior vp and GM of heavy duty/industrial for
Delco Remy
ANDERSON, Ind., June 13 Delco Remy America President,
Richard Stanley, announces the appointment of Joseph Plomin as the Senior Vice
President and General Manager of Heavy Duty/Industrial Division for Delco Remy
America. As General Manager, Plomin will have responsibility for Delco Remy's
global heavy duty and industrial original equipment business, as well as,
responsibility for the Delco Remy brand aftermarket business in North America.
"Plomin has considerable experience and is recognized by the industry as a
customer-focused leader. We expect this assignment to strengthen our pursuit
of aggressive growth," said Stanley. Plomin brings more than 16 years of
successful management experience in the industrial field. Most recently, he
was the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Burst Wireless, in Seattle.
From 1998 through 2000 he served as Senior Vice President of Sales and
Marketing at Delco Remy World Wide Automotive.
During Plomin's tenure with Delco Remy he demonstrated strong leadership
skills as he consolidated the sales and marketing efforts of the DRI
Electrical Remanufacturing entities into a strong cohesive team while leading
the division to record sales and growth. Plomin focused on Delco Remy's
retail and traditional wholesale customers.
Prior to Delco Remy, Plomin was President of Stewart Warner Instrument
Company, a leading supplier of instrumentation to the heavy duty and
industrial markets. There, he set the strategic direction for the company and
established procedures to monitor the ongoing improvement of key operations.
Plomin holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Knox College in
Galesburg, Illinois. He has also been active in various industry associations
including Automotive Electrical Association (AEA), Heavy Duty Manufacturers
Association (HDMA) and Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA).
