ALGOR's New Internet-Based Service Speeds Software Enhancement Delivery
PITTSBURGH--June 12, 2001--ALGOR, Inc., a leading maker of software for mechanical engineers, today released its new Internet-based customer service system, an industry first in providing faster and more efficient access to many customer services such as the latest software enhancements."Now ALGOR customers will be able to save time and stay current with all the latest software enhancements by using this new Internet-based service system," said Michael L. Bussler, president and CEO of ALGOR, Inc. "This system is an example of how ALGOR uses technology to improve the level of customer service it offers."
ALGOR customers with current software upgrade subscriptions can use the new software update system at no charge by clicking on the download button on ALGOR's Web site (www.ALGOR.com). First-time visitors to the Internet-based customer service system are prompted to create a profile that links them to account information and information about the latest software enhancements available for their account. After the customer has chosen to download a software update, the system will send an e-mail linking the customer to the files available for download.
Users can choose either a full software update that includes all the latest versions of all the software the customer owns or an incremental update for only those files that have been updated since the customer's last update to speed download time. This incremental update option enables customers to receive their software updates in the least amount of download time possible, whether the customer accesses the Internet via 56K or cable modem or ISDN, DSL, T-1 or T-3 line.
"The Internet-based customer service system will enable ALGOR to improve profitability and pass on those savings to our customers," said Teresa Anania, Vice President of Operations at ALGOR and project lead for the implementation of this new system. "This service is another case of how we use technological innovations to provide the best software at the lowest price."
The Internet-based customer service system reduces customer reliance on traditional means of requesting a software update and account information. Customers may continue to request software updates through traditional means by contacting their account manager or by faxing or emailing ALGOR to receive a CD-ROM with a complete set of their ALGOR software by mail.
