Webasto Selects Business Layers eProvisioning Solution; Webasto To Implement and Resell eProvision Day One

PARIS--June 12, 2001--Business Layers(TM), a developer of e-business infrastructure software, today announced at the EEMA Annual Conference in Paris that Webasto, an international automotive subsystems manufacturer based in Stockdorf, Germany, has chosen to implement Business Layers' award-winning eProvision Day One(TM) software.
Webasto will also become a Reseller Partner, and will be authorized to provide eProvision Day One(TM) pricing, licensing, maintenance, and distribution information to the automotive companies it serves.
Webasto Information Systems, a division of Webasto that serves as an IT systems integrator for the automotive industry, will begin to implement eProvision Day One(TM) in its German headquarters at the end of June. Webasto will also serve as a reseller, further expanding Business Layers' sales channels.
"Webasto is well-accepted as a leading systems integrator within the automotive industry," said Barak Ben Avinoam, general manager of Business Layers Europe. "By choosing to implement eProvision Day One(TM) they are not only validating the need for eProvisioning solutions, but are also solidifying Business Layers' presence in the European market."
eProvision Day One(TM) aligns business needs with IT resources by automating the process of connecting employees and business partners to the digital resources they need to be productive, including e-mail, CRM applications and supply chain management programs. eProvision Day One enables businesses to improve time-to-productivity and reduce operating costs by securely and efficiently integrating employees, partners and vendors into existing IT infrastructure.
"We have over 5,000 employees in more than 60 locations worldwide, and relationships with hundreds of vendors. As a result of this wide network of business audiences, we saw the need for a solution that would allow us to automate the process of integrating both employees and vendors into our IT infrastructure," said Josef Richter, CIO of Webasto. "We looked into various options and decided that Business Layers' eProvision Day One(TM) best met our needs. We see this as an effective method to reduce our operating costs internally at Webasto, and in the future we plan on offering this product and expertise to other companies in the automotive industry."
