CTS Corporation Awarded New EGR Sensor Business for Heavy-Duty Vehicles

    ELKHART, Ind.--June 11, 2001--CTS Corporation , a global leader in resistive and noncontacting based automotive sensors, and the world's leading producer of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve sensors, today announced that a major North American Tier 1 supplier has awarded CTS Automotive Products a five-year program to supply EGR valve sensors for use in heavy-duty trucks. The total sales value of the multi-year program is in excess of $5 million.
    The significance of the CTS award is twofold. It is the first EGR valve sensor award CTS has received for application in heavy-duty vehicles; and represents an additional new end-customer for CTS sensor products. CTS was selected as the vendor of choice based upon its long-term relationship with the Tier 1 supplier, proven product design, immediate availability of manufacturing capacity and competitive price. Due to a confidentiality agreement with the customer, additional details of the award are not available at this time.
