BAX Global Names New Directors for Asia/Pacific Region
Goeschl Named Managing Director, New Zealand;
Chee Heads Legal Post; Wan Takes Over HR Responsibilities
SINGAPORE, June 8 BAX Global Inc., a US$2.1 billion global
transportation and logistics provider, has named three executives to new
positions within its Asia/Pacific region.
BAX Global named Reinhold Goeschl to the position of managing director,
New Zealand, Chee Chi Meng to regional director, legal and Wan Fook Keong to
regional human resources director, it was announced here today by Stephen
Dearnley, president, BAX Global Asia/Pacific.
In his new position, Geoschl will have responsibility for managing the
company's New Zealand operations and will report directly to Geoff O'Grady,
BAX's vice president Australia and New Zealand. BAX Global's Asia/Pacific
headquarters is located in Singapore.
Goeschl came to BAX from Schenker Logistics Operations/Supply Chain
Management in Singapore. Previous to that position, he was country manager
for Schenker's Malaysia and New Zealand operations. Goeschl has been in the
logistics industry for over 25 years. Besides working in the Asia-Pacific
region, he has worked in Austria, Germany, USA and Africa.
In the legal area, Chee Chi Meng came to BAX after many years with the law
firm Baker & McKenzie, where he was a foreign legal consultant. There he
advised clients on anti-counterfeiting issues, information technology,
trademark and patent law. Prior to Baker & McKenzie, Chee spent three years
with a Singapore legal firm. Chee has a wealth of experience in litigation
and intellectual property rights in Hong Kong, Singapore and throughout the
Asia/Pacific region.
BAX has also named Wan Fook Keong to the position of regional human
resource director.
Wan, a human resources professional for most of his career, comes to BAX
from Boake Allen Ltd., a publicly traded, U.S.-based flavor and fragrance
firm, where he was responsible for strategic regional human resources
management and for working with country managers in adopting new human
resources initiatives and improvements.
In making the announcements, Dearnley said, these additions are "critical
to the growth" of the company's business in the region.
"Reinhold's experience in managing international supply chain management
operations will be a great asset for us in New Zealand," said Dearnley. "We
see his role as critical in managing and building our business. We're
delighted to have him part of our team."
Both Chee and Wan are based in BAX Global's Asia/Pacific headquarters here
and report directly to Dearnley.
