JARRETT; NEW TRACK RECORD AT MIS BROOKLYN, MI, 6-7-01 - Just like butter, Jason Jarrett's on a roll. Jarrett, fresh from victory lane at Kansas Speedway, broke the one lap ARCA RE/MAX Series track record here Thursday at Michigan Int'l Speedway with a speed of 185.000 mph in the Biomet-Damon RV Pontiac. Not only was Jarrett the first RE/MAX Series driver to bust into the 185 mph barrier at MIS, he was also the first to crack the 38-second bracket. It was Jarrett's career-first Old Milwaukee Pole Award in his 10th attempt.

"I feel like we're really on a roll," said Jarrett. "I've got my confidence up; it helps coming off our first win last week at Kansas. We just hope to keep the ball rolling. I want to thank my car owner Mary Miller for the first-class outfit, and my crew chief Scott Eldridge who's put together a heck of a program here at ML Motorsports; the whole crew is awesome. The Pontiac we're using here is from the Bill Davis Racing stable; it's one of Ward Burton's cars from last year."

NASCAR Busch Series veteran and former RE/MAX Series rookie of the year Blaise Alexander, also in a Pontiac, qualified second at 184.412 ahead of current point leader Frank Kimmel at 184.398 in the Advance Auto Parts-Pork Ford. NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series veteran Rick Carelli qualified fourth at 184.393 in the RE/MAX Int'l Chevy over David Keith, in the CLR Ford, at 184.115.
