Indianapolis native looking to rekindle early season success with Candlewood Suites
INDIANAPOLIS – American Speed Association ACDelco Series veteran Tim Taylor and his Taylor Racing organization recently announced that they have signed Candlewood Suites as an associate sponsor on the number 28 Chevrolet for the remainder of the 2001 ASA season. The agreement was announced prior to the season’s seventh event, the BFGoodrich Tires 300 at Concord (N.C.) Motorsport Park.
“Having someone like Candlewood Suites on board with this team helps us sleep better at night,” said Taylor. “It is a real relief and will be a confidence booster for the entire team to have someone like Candlewood Suites on our car. We really hope to make this a long-lasting partnership that will be beneficial to all of the parties involved. This is the perfect way to get their foot in the door of the motorsports arena.”
Candlewood Suites are designed to be a traveler’s home away from home. The suites are built big and spacious, with relaxation and comfort in mind. Each suite has a full kitchen, including refrigerator and microwave, an executive desk with separate phone li nes and a living room area with a recliner and TV/VCR/CD player combo. Candlewood also offers a free video and CD library, a free fitness center and a fully stocked snack area. Candlewood also takes the hassles out of check in, as once reservations are mad e, the guest check in and out completely on their own time frame.
“The hotels are just absolutely fantastic and a great place for our entire team to stay,” said Taylor. “The rooms are nice, spacious and make you feel like you are staying in an apartment, not a hotel room. Maybe we can get some of our fellow competitors t o see what Candlewood Suites can offer.”
Taylor has been racing in ASA since 1997, but this year is in his third full-season with the Indiana-based series. While previous years have been tough, the Indianapolis-native and fan-favorite driver has seen his fair share of good luck in 2001, as he has recorded two top-10 finishes, including a seventh place at Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway in March. That beat his previous best of eighth, which was set at the season-opening ASARacing.com 300 at St. Augustine (Fla.) Speedway. Taylor was given the series “Ha rd Luck” Award in 2000, following his reception of the “Special Dedication: Extra Mile” Award in 1999.
Candlewood Suites, based in Wichita, Kan., owns, operates and licenses Candlewood Suites; and licenses and operates Cambridge Suites. Both concepts serve travelers on short- or long-term stays. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jack DeBoer founded Candl ewood Suites in 1995 and Cambridge Suites in 1998. There are currently 95 Candlewood Suites open coast-to-coast.
