CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Cicci-Welliver Raing announced today that Winston Cup veteran Geoffrey Bodine will assume driving duties of the NASCAR Busch Series No. 66 Phillips 66 Chevrolet Monte Carlo effective immediately. Bodine, 52, will make his first start for the No. 66 team in the upcoming inaugural event at Kentucky Speedway on June 16th.

"Geoffrey has a terrific amount of knowledge and experience," said Cicci-Welliver Racing car owner Frank Cicci. "The Busch cars are a lot more like Winston Cup cars now with the increased horsepower. I think he can excel in this division of racing and put the Phillips 66 car up front.

"Personally, I've known and been friends with the Bodine family for a long time. Geoffrey is well-acquainted with the team and Donnie (Richeson) and I believe the chemistry will develop real quick."

Cicci-Welliver makes this announcement after releasing Tim Fedewa Monday evening.

"It's a real unfortunate situation," Cicci said. "Tim is a great guy. We just could not get the chemistry right with the team."

Bodine is scheduled to run the No. 66 car for the duration of the 2001 NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division season.
