Navigation Technologies Internet/Wireless Division Strengthens Location-Based Services Client Base With Paradigm, Kivera, AirFlash, Xmarc

MIAMI, June 4 ITS America (Booth #203) -- Navigation
Technologies Corp., a leading global provider of comprehensive map data,
announced that its five-month-old Internet/Wireless division has already
signed four major providers of location-based services (LBS) as clients.
"These partnerships demonstrate Navigation Technologies' aggressive
pursuit of the Internet/Wireless space with a particular focus on the handheld
device segment," said George Filley, General Manager for the Internet/Wireless
division of Navigation Technologies. "The really good news about adding these
companies to our list of clients is that each application is different from
the other. This validates the flexibility of our database and the pricing
model we've developed to address the diversity of the devices accessing our
data."
The new clients broaden Navigation Technologies' customer base and
strengthen its position as the premier provider of digital map databases to
the vehicle navigation market, fleet and GIS markets, and now the
wireless/handheld device market.

    Navigation Technologies new clients include:
-- Paradigm Advanced Technologies Inc., a Toronto-based application
service provider (ASP) and emerging leader in the design and
development of wireless Internet-enabled tracking and locating systems.
-- Kivera Inc., based in Oakland, Calif., an ASP that enables its business
partners to provide mobile location services that include maps,
directions and proximity-based searches through WAP enabled phones.
-- AirFlash Inc., a leading ASP of wireless location and mobile-commerce
infrastructure, based in Saratoga, Calif. AirFlash provides
location-specific information to mobile carriers and portals for
services such as yellow pages and directions, local events, movies and
attractions, and travel and commuter updates through its patent-pending
       SmartZone environment.
-- Xmarc Inc., based in San Jose, Calif., which provides infrastructure
software solutions for wireless and Internet-enabled companies that
manage and distribute corporate and location-based data.

The fast-growing location-based services market is increasingly attractive
to wireless providers, and they realize that data of the type Navigation
Technologies provides is essential to drive demand for mobile applications.
With location-based services, users of wireless devices can search for places,
such as theaters or restaurants, nearest to their location.
The new partnerships provide the four LBS companies with access to real-
time map data, geocoding (associating an address to a position on a map),
route calculation, and guidance products for telematics and proximity-based
services.
Paradigm will use NAVTECH(R) map data under the brand name PowerLoc in a
new application to be launched in June. The PowerLoc application includes a
LBS component that will enable global positioning, system-assisted, turn-by-
turn directions along with address and point-of-interest search capabilities.
Kivera will use NAVTECH map data in its wireless, in-vehicle, and Web
applications, and to develop the market for LBS.
AirFlash will license NAVTECH map data in North America and Europe.
Xmarc intends to integrate Navigation Technologies' map data with its LBS
platform WIISE(TM). NAVTECH map data will allow WIISE application developers
to deliver visually rich LBS solutions. Xmarc365(TM), a hosted service, also
will be enabled with NAVTECH map data to provide mobile network operators,
portals, e-business, and application developers with access to the WIISE
location engines.
